Supervised Visitation Monitoring Team
Bianca G. is the Monitor Coordinator and also provides emergency relief for others on the monitoring team.
Caroline G. is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern who provides monitoring of court ordered supervised visitation for non-DFPS cases.
Loraine S., a native Texan, has been with Alamo Heights Counseling, Inc. since October 2014. She has been a registered nurse since 1972. She spent the early years of her career working in newborn and high-risk hospital nurseries. She lived abroad from 1976 to 1987 in Holland, Singapore, and India. Following her return to the U.S., she worked fifteen years in pediatric offices in Houston before moving to San Antonio. She worked in public health nursing with the City of San Antonio before retiring. She has two grown children and one granddaughter. Loraine is available to supervise visits on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at the Department of Family and Protective Services's Pickwell location between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Loraine is willing to supervise visits off-site in public places with families she has been working with for an extended period of time who demonstrate that they are able to keep their children safe and willing to cooperate with supervision requirements.
Melinda M. is currently available to provide supervised visitation services to families who are part of DFPS cases.
Sylvia D. is employed full time by Baptist Child and Family Services and is available to provide supervised visitation services to families who are part of DFPS cases when she is not working in another capacity with BCFS.
Rita R. is currently available to provide supervised visitation services to families who are part of DFPS cases.
Salina R. is a school counselor who is currently available evenings and weekends to provide supervised visitation services to families who are part of DFPS cases.
Kiara L. is currently available to provide supervised visitation services to families who are part of DFPS cases.
Hunter V. is currently available to provide supervised visitation services to families who are part of DFPS cases.
Emergency Coverage Monitors
Hillel D. is a full-time paramedic with a 911 service in a town near San Antonio and a part-time student at San Antonio College, as well as a former fire fighter. He is the father of two daughters, ages 13 and 10. Hillel has been volunteering with Alamo Heights Counseling since July 2014. Although his schedule is quite busy, he is available to provide holiday coverage for monitors and is occasionally able to provide emergency coverage for weekend visits. Hillel has monitored visits at DFPS's Pickwell location, in public places, in client homes, and at the AHC Inc. offices. He is open to visits that present unique challenges.
Joe S., an attorney, father of two, and former foster parent to seven, is married to Alamo Heights Counseling, Inc.'s director and provides supervision for monitors on an as-needed basis. He also provides emergency coverage when monitors are unable to do so due to illness or unexpected circumstances, or when caseworkers require a higher level of parent supervision. Although Joe's legal career has focused on consumer bankruptcy, he has over twenty years of volunteer experience working with children and families in San Antonio.
Cherie S., a licensed professional counselor supervisor, is the director of Alamo Heights Counseling and one of the supervisors of our visitation monitor team. She provides monitoring on an as-needed basis when a monitor is unable to to do so, or when a caseworker requires a higher level of parent supervision. Cherie is also available for reunification therapy, sometimes also referred to as therapeutic supervised visitation.
